Scott has 28 years experience in Commercial/ Business Development, Strategy / Business Planning, Operating Excellence and Capital Projects including 17 years at BHP. Scott was Project Director for BHPs eProcurement and Quadrem Online Marketplace initiative – establishing Consortium of Mining Companies to create a Buyer led online Transaction Hub to (among other goals) head off the push by OEMs to create an OEM controlled transaction hub & sourcing platform.​

Scott also developed the commercialisation strategy for BHP’s patented Compact LNG (cLNG) technology in Algeria and negotiated a partnership agreement with Algeria’s national oil company (Sonatrach). As part of this he also developed an industry first strategy & logistics solution to overcome economic challenges of small parcel LNG markets “Niche LNG” – which while not used by BHP has been employed in later years by energy companies in Norway and the Mediterranean.​

Scott has developed and managed various forms of strategic partnership arrangements, JV’s & Alliances in O&G and mining in Australia, Russia and Algeria and is adept at finding & delivering win-win outcomes.​
