Our Team

Imvelo’s expert team collectively holds 100+ years experience in the resources industry, supporting both the strategy and planning phases of transformation, in addition to working in the field to successfully execute the programs. We are experienced in the full suite of operational technology deployments, business models, stakeholder engagement and capability requirements in addition to a global network of cross-industry technology partners who can accelerate business transformation.

Sharna is the Co-Founder and CEO of Imvelo. She has over 25 years of experience in the resources sector with her career focusing on engineering, technology and people. Her career has spanned from working in the largest global mining and processing house (BHP) for twenty years to being the co-founder of Imvelo which which delivers novel resource engineering models and operational support to the productive embedment of autonomous electrified systems  

Dr Sharna Glover

Chief Executive Officer

Alan is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Imvelo. He has more than 20 years’ experience, across 15 countries and 9 commodities, in operational and strategic roles in the mining industry focused on the innovation and integration of the value chain. His career has included Vice President Technology at BHP, in his global role he was accountable for the execution of major innovation programs across 5 commodity value chains adopting digital and extractive technologies.

Dr Alan Bye

Managing Director

Alastair has over 30 years experience in the resources industry  in operations, technology, and corporate roles to successfully strategize, implement, and support cross value chain automation and technology projects across diverse regions, including Africa, Australia, North and South America.  Alastair had an extensive career at Rio Tinto including Head of Automation Centre of Excellence and General Manager Mining Automation and Analytics, and Head of Mine Modernisation at Anglo American.

Chris is a Partner in Imvelo and a resources industry professional with over 16 years’ experience across global operations, mine planning, operational technology strategy and technology investment evaluation.  Chris is passionate about business transformation and step-change performance through innovation and technology.  He held senior roles inside BHP’s iron ore division, as well as global roles in technology, geoscience, projects and engineering. 

Chris Elkins


Jeremy is a hands-on full stack software engineer with decades of experience delivering sustainable software into production for the companies he has worked for. Jeremy has held roles at Anglo American as Principal Application Developer, and at BHP as Innovation Lead. Most recently he led the inception, architecture and development of a web-based supply chain modelling system utilising large scale cloud compute for numerical analysis, simulation and optimisation.

Brendan is a hands-on technology people leader in operational and information technology with over 15 years’ experience in the resources industry. He was previously the Head of Technology for BHP where he was the prime stakeholder and strategist of the Global Technology Operations re-organisation across BHP facilitating the leverage of the TROC across all Mine and Port facilities and standardisation of roles and accountabilities across the Minerals Australia Region. 

Brendan McCarthy


Aaron is a highly experienced autonomous haulage specialist with over 10 years experience with CAT Minestar Command and the Minestar Suite, including as lead OT Autonomous Mining Systems at BHP. He has been heavily involved with the implementation of autonomous haulage systems as well as fleet management systems. Aaron has a strong ability to identify customer needs through data interpretation and create positive change in high speed environments.

Melodie has over 5 years’ experience of designing, managing and implementing complex large scale technology transformation across the mining industry and management consulting. She is a confident and trusted advisor whose strength lies in combining technical proficiency with strong business acumen, evaluating strategic options and informing recommendations for critical business decisions that deliver value.

Scott has over 30 years diversified industry experience.  Scott has worked globally in executive roles inside technology, strategy, planning, project delivery and innovation.  Scott has significant experience creating leading small or large teams inside resources, technology, finance and elite sport globally. He has held senior global leadership roles inside BHP’s Technology, Innovation and Commercial and Project functions.

Eric has over 16 years in the telecommunications and networking industry, specialising in industrial OT wireless networks.  Eric spent 8 years in the Armed Forces as a Telecommunications Technician before joining BHP to support mine sites in Queensland for over 5 years, where he was the Coal WTS Systems Principal for BMA and BMC site OT wireless networks.

Timothy is an IT and Communications specialist with over 16 years experience. Timothy spent over 5 years with BHP as a Technical Specialist working on wireless networking and communications; immediate support for high priority incidents; remote operations technology support for multiple large, complex nodes; technical training and mentoring for new team members; executing changes on a live production network and liaising with and assisting remote technical site operations team members.

Lucy is a key part of the Imvelo team and has worked alongside Alan and Sharna since the business was started in 2019. Lucy supports the Imvelo business to achieve client outcomes through her business analyst skills. She has strong analytical skills and an ability to draw together information required to present at Executive levels. Lucy has a Master of Business Management (Organisational Sustainability and Innovation) and a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing and International Business).

David is a chemical engineer with 27 years of experience in the mining and metals industry. His experience covers both owners and EPCM roles, in addition to having held both operations and project positions. David’s areas of expertise cover: operations, project management, project development and management across the business cycle, technology development, improvement programs, project controls and risk assessment.

Jacques has over 20 years of experience in IT/OT operations within the resourcing sector, and a successful track record as a people leader of technical specialists for the past 8 years. Throughout his career, Jacques has gained extensive knowledge and experience in IT/OT operations, with a specific focus on mining operational technology. As a network engineer, he was deeply involved in managing complex infrastructures, ensuring uninterrupted operations, and implementing robust security measures.

Industrial Networking Specialist

Doug is a process and techno-economic modelling specialist, with over 30 years experience. As the director of PalCom Systems, Doug was a leading provider of process simulation, techno-economic modelling & data analysis for several CSIRO Units. This work included the National Hydrogen Roadmap, a report for Boeing on the ‘Opportunities for hydrogen in commercial aviation’, process & LCA modelling for a Defence client and the CO2 Utilisation Roadmap.
